On March 26, 2019, SCHNEIDER GROUP held its Quarterly Focus event, titled “New regulatory framework from the National Bank of Ukraine”, dedicated to the current topic of currency regulation.
The guests had the opportunity to learn more about the introduction of new rules of the Ukrainian foreign exchange market and the banking supervision of foreign exchange transactions. SCHNEIDER GROUP experts shared their experiences on such topics as:
- New legislation in the field of foreign exchange regulation
- The main features of the new rules of currency control
- Steps to improve the investment climate in Ukraine
Yuri Donets, Partner of SCHNEIDER GROUP in Kyiv gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the seminar and introduced the speakers: Maksim Satsyuk, Legal Expert, SCHNEIDER GROUP Kyiv, and Artem Barinov, Associate Director of Legal & Tax at SCHNEIDER GROUP Kyiv.
In his speech, Maxim Satsyuk spoke about the introduction of a new legislative approach to the regulation of the currency market in Ukraine, giving a general overview of the updated regulatory framework. He also reviewed key changes in the state regulation of operations such as currency loans, distribution and payment of dividends, and currency exchange. At the end of his report, Satsyuk described the main priorities and prospects for the development of the Ukrainian currency market in light of the updated regulatory framework.
Artem Barinov gave a presentation on the topic “New features of currency control in Ukraine”, which examined the legal basis for the currency control in Ukraine, especially the risk-based approach by banks, currency control measures, risk indicators, and presented practical examples.
The event ended with a question and answer session, where guests could speak in more detail with the experts.
