Workshops on doing business in the CIS, Ukraine and Poland

On April 4, 2019, prior to the office opening party, SCHNEIDER GROUP held several workshops about doing business in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, as well as a special workshop for pharmaceutical companies doing business in the EAEU. Each guest could choose the workshop on the region or industry most interesting to them.

In each workshop, after a general country overview, the discussions centered on similar topics—the changing business, economic, and political climates. Many of the countries are engaged in various kinds of tax reform and have established special economic zones to attract foreign investment, a topic that greatly interests our clients. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine have faced recent political changes that have greatly affected their economies. Another key question for each of the countries is how they are leveraging their central geographic locations and domestic resources to attract investment and develop economically. Pharmaceutical companies are especially concerned with the regulatory changes in the EAEU and how they change registration of and marketing for their products.

It was a good opportunity for the Directors and Office Heads to connect with different companies and potential clients and share their knowledge from their countries in smaller groups before the office opening festivities.
