By the Order of the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Rules for the collection and processing of personal data of 21.10.2020 No. 395/NK were approved. The Rules became effective on 08.11.2020.

Starting on 01.01.2021, the long-awaited changes regarding the mandatory audit criteria came into force. They are aimed at significantly reducing the burden for small and medium-sized businesses in terms of passing audits.

On December 8, 2020, Vladimir Putin signed a law amending the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. The document provides for the new regulation of distant employees’ work and introduces the new term “remote work”, which is synonymous with the currently established “distant work” in the RF LC. The new regulation will take effect on January 1, 2021.

Pursuant to the State Migration Policy Concept of the Russian Federation for 2019–2025, the Ministry of Economic Development developed the Draft Federal Law “On amending the Federal Law “On Legal Status of Foreign Nationals in the Russian Federation””, aimed at increasing the investment appeal of Russia and creating additional favorable conditions for investing and doing business in the Russian Federation.

The previously adopted Federal Law No. 425-FZ of 02.12.2019 “On Amending Article 4 of the Law of the Russian Federation “On Protection of Consumer Rights”” established that from 01.01.2021 goods included in the category of technically complex goods with pre-installed software, must be equipped with Russian Software at the time of sale to end consumers.
