Localization 2020
On February 25, 2020, SCHNEIDER GROUP held a business breakfast in cooperation with the Government of Tyumen Region on the topic “Localization 2020”.
Government incentives to create favorable conditions for business inspires more and more international companies to enter the Russian market, not only as suppliers, but also manufacturers. For several years, the Tyumen region has been among the top 5 leaders in the national ratings of the investment climate in Russian territories.
Eduard Bakiev, Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region, welcomed guests and gave a regional overview. Representatives of the Tyumen Regional Government detailed the region’s development, opportunities for cooperation and localization of production of the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
Dr. Thomas Mundry, Partner, SCHNEIDER GROUP, cited key indicators in the petrochemical industry and elaborated on prospects for foreign investors in his speech.
Oleg Gorun, Director, Knauf Insulation, spoke about the practical case of localization. In 2015, Knauf Insulation joined the project to modernize the plant for the production of mineral-cotton products, which led to a number of positive changes in the company’s activities and regional development.
Denis Zhuravsky, Executive Director, Association of Industrial Parks, presented an overview of industrial parks in Russia, and shared the approaches that AIP of Russia uses in working with foreign investors with the participants.
Sergey Uryupichev, Business Development Director, BARAN GROUP, told the participants about aspects of design and technical supervision of production sites in Russia.
